Privacy Policy
WLog is a workout tracker built so you can log training without handing over your life. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

Summary
We do not sell your personal data, and we never share your workout or health data with advertisers or data brokers. You can use WLog without an account. If you create one, you can delete it — and everything in it — from inside the app at any time.
The short version:
- Your workouts are stored on your device by default.
- If you sign in, they are also backed up to your private cloud account so you can sync across devices.
- We collect anonymous usage and crash data to fix bugs and decide what to build next.
- Health data from Apple Health or Health Connect stays between your device and your own cloud backup. It is never used for advertising.
- Purchases are handled by Apple and Google. We never see your card details.
Who we are
WLog ("WLog", "we", "us") is a workout tracker and gym log application for iOS, Android and Apple Watch, developed and operated by Mustafa Ali Dikçinar as an independent developer. For privacy law purposes we are the data controller for the personal data described on this page.
This policy covers the WLog mobile apps, the Apple Watch companion app, and this website. It applies from the date shown above and replaces any earlier privacy policy published for this app.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work. The table below lists every category of data, why we handle it, and whether it ever leaves your device.
| Data | Why | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Training data | Workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, rest times, RPE/RIR, notes and personal records — the core of the app. | Only if you sign in for cloud backup and sync. |
| Body measurements | Optional body weight, body fat and circumference entries used for your progress charts. | Only if you sign in for cloud backup and sync. |
| Profile basics | Optional height, weight, sex, birth year and unit preferences, used to calculate strength levels and 1RM estimates. | Only if you sign in for cloud backup and sync. |
| Account identifiers | Your email address and a user ID, created when you sign in with Apple, Google or as a guest. | Yes — stored with our authentication provider. |
| Usage analytics | Which screens are opened and which features are used, in aggregate, so we know what to improve. | Yes — pseudonymous, tied to an app instance ID rather than your name. |
| Crash diagnostics | Stack traces, device model, OS version and app version when the app crashes or errors. | Yes — so we can fix the crash. |
| Purchase status | Whether you hold an active subscription, so premium features unlock on all your devices. | Yes — handled by our subscription provider. We never receive your payment card details. |
| Photos and files | Only the specific image, PDF or spreadsheet you pick when importing a workout plan. | Sent for processing only at the moment you import. See AI plan import. |
| Health data | Optional workout and body metrics exchanged with Apple Health or Health Connect. | Not to us as a separate copy. See Health data. |
| Support messages | Anything you write when you send feedback or contact support, plus basic device context. | Yes — so we can reply and reproduce the problem. |
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your calendar, your browsing history outside the app, or your advertising identifier. WLog does not display third-party ads.
How we use it
We use the data above to:
- Provide the core product — store your training history and show your progress over time.
- Sync your data between your phone, your Apple Watch and any other device you sign in on.
- Unlock premium features for subscribers and restore purchases.
- Send workout reminders and rest-timer notifications, if you enable them.
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- Understand which features are used so we can prioritise development.
- Respond when you contact support.
- Detect abuse and protect the service from automated attacks.
We do not use your data for profiling that produces legal effects, automated decision-making about you, targeted advertising, or resale of any kind.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Performance of a contract — providing the app, your account, cloud sync and subscriptions.
- Consent — health data access, notifications, camera and photo access, and optional analytics where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings.
- Legitimate interests — crash reporting, security, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate feature usage to improve the product.
- Legal obligation — retaining transaction records where tax or consumer law requires it.
Service providers
We use a small number of established providers to run the app. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Authentication, cloud database and backup, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration and abuse protection. | firebase.google.com |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and entitlement management across platforms. | revenuecat.com |
| Apple | App distribution, Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and HealthKit. | apple.com |
| Google Play | App distribution, Google Sign-In, Play purchases and Health Connect. | policies.google.com |
| Wiredash | In-app feedback and support messages you choose to send. | wiredash.com |
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to do so, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If WLog is ever transferred to another owner, your data may transfer with it — you will be notified before that happens and before any different privacy policy applies to you.
Health data
WLog can integrate with Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS and Health Connect on Android. This integration is entirely optional and off until you grant permission.
- We read and write only the data types you approve, such as workouts, active energy and body measurements.
- Health data is used solely to show your progress in the app and to record your WLog sessions in your platform's health store.
- We never use health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell or share it with data brokers.
- Health data is not used for any purpose other than the health and fitness features you see in the app.
- You can revoke access at any time in the Health app (iOS) or Health Connect settings (Android) without losing your WLog training history.
AI plan import
WLog can turn a photo, screenshot, PDF or spreadsheet of a training program into a structured routine. When you use this feature:
- Only the file you explicitly select is sent for processing — we do not scan your photo library.
- The file is processed by Google's generative AI service through Firebase in order to extract exercises, sets and reps.
- The extracted routine is saved to your account. We do not keep the source file after the import completes.
- Your imports are not used to train third-party foundation models.
Automated extraction is not perfect. Always review an imported routine before training with it.
Data retention
- Training and account data — kept while your account is active, and erased when you delete your account.
- Local data — kept on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports — retained for up to 90 days.
- Analytics — retained in aggregated, pseudonymous form for up to 14 months.
- Support messages — retained for up to 24 months so we can follow up on recurring issues.
- Purchase records — retained as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or out of date — most of it is editable directly in the app.
- Delete your account and data. See Delete your account.
- Export your training data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent for health access, notifications, camera or photos at any time in your device settings.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email wlog.training@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated cloud data from inside the app, without emailing anyone: open Settings and scroll to Delete account at the bottom. This is irreversible.
Full step-by-step instructions, and what is removed versus retained, are on the Delete your account page.
Children's privacy
WLog is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country, where that is higher), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact wlog.training@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Resistance training carries injury risk for developing bodies. Minors should train under qualified supervision.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Cloud data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access rules that restrict each account's records to that account. Authentication tokens are held in the platform keychain or keystore, and the app uses attestation to reject requests from tampered clients.
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it privately to wlog.training@gmail.com before disclosing it publicly.
International transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard offered by the provider.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app changes. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes that affect how we use your data, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
